Grant Programs

Connecting Activities (CA)

A School to Career initiative designed to build connections between employers and schools. We provide work experiences and other career development opportunities to youth who live in the Metro North Region. CA staff are on location at Chelsea, Malden, Revere, Somerville, and Woburn High Schools once a week from September through June to provide students with job search assistance. We create the school-employer connections for work-based learning and career awareness programs and broker the partnerships that are essential for student experiences.

Out-of-School Youth Programs

We collaborate with programs in Cambridge, Chelsea, Wakefield and Malden. These programs are for youth (ages 16–24) who are no longer attending school or left high school without a diploma. Our youth department provides career readiness and job matching services for students who are in the process of working towards their HiSET or other certifications, including certified nursing assistant and construction skills.

We work with the following programs: Bay Cove Academy, Brookline, Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge Just-A-Start, Cambridge YWCA, and the Woburn Housing Authority, serving at–risk youth who are currently attending high school in the cities where the programs are located. The purpose of these programs is to provide educational, career readiness, and support services to an at–risk population.
